That's a wrap folks!
With one final pep talk, the squad hit the track for the final time of 2017. Mastering the start once more, Jake capitalised on Ilott to rise of 3rd with eyes set on challenging Günther before the end of the opening lap. Soon finding himself under pressure from Eriksson once again, the British driver was unable to hold off in the fashion he had in Race 2. A disappointing conclusion for Jake, saw him gain a penalty for slightly exceeding the max speed set by the Full Course Yellow regulations, which relented him to 8th. After the appearance of a full course yellow, Nikita brought the fight to Piquet, but had to settle for 9th at the flag, which was later promoted to 7th.
In a heartbreaking conclusion to a strong season, Ralf suffered an opening lap puncture, after being caught by Schumacher. With tenacious spirit, he pushed on to the flag, proving his pace with the fastest lap times. Whilst Tadasuke narrowly missed out on the final points of the season, his impressive debut European campaign netted 15th in the championship despite missing three races.
With the races run and champagne sprayed, we hang up our headsets and pack away our spanners on the 2017 season. But as we head home to Hitech HQ, we’re already counting the days till we hit the track in 2018.
